Ms. Annabel Kamuche obtained a BLL (Hon) in Public Law from the University of Maiduguri, Borno state, in 2007. She proceeded to the Nigerian Law School Bwari, Abuja where she obtained a BL(Hons) in 2008 and was called to the Nigerian Bar same year. She attended the Humboldt University Law School Germany where she obtained a certificate as an international certified Mediator, Negotiator, and Arbitrator. She is also a fellow of the United Nations Academy on Peace and Conflict Resolution. She is a qualified consultant for Gender/Human Center Development, Organic and Fairtrade standards. She has won many prestigious awards for excellence and impact. Annabel is a Strategic Leader with natural skills for building new businesses. In 2013, rather than continue with her law practice, she decided to explore the agricultural sector and took up her first appointment as the Corporate Affairs/Business Development Executive at Green Fingers Technologies Limited. She later became the first Managing Director of First Heritage Global Investment Ltd (FHGI), a company later appointed by the Niger state government to develop the “Road Map” for the development of the Shea sector of the state and she served as the Lead Consultant that drafted the “Shea Policy for Niger state”. This initiative was aimed at improving the livelihood of shea sector actors, through maximum utilization of the shea resource, increasing the value of the trees and access to premium lucrative international markets. She is a visionary expert, with skills in evaluating business climates and trends, and facilitating access to international lucrative markets for Nigeria agricultural products through value addition, conformity assessment and certification. She led the setup of NICERT with two independent subsidiaries, and currently heads it as Group Managing Director, a group consisting of two (2) independent subsidiaries; NICERT Limited (the first indigenous Conformity Assessment and Certification Company in Nigeria), local partners with Ecocert Group and M/S OSS Certification Service PVT Ltd, a global leader in Conformity Assessment and Certification for many international standards including Organic, Global GAP, Fairtrade, Rainforest Alliance, HACCP, ISO 22000, ISO 90001, amongst others, and NICERT Expert Consulting Limited (NECL), provider of Agri-business consultancy, Training on compliance to various international standards, Technical Support, Supply chain structuring, Monitoring and Evaluation and market linkage/deal room services. Under her leadership, NICERT has over 20+ Organic certified operations within various value chains, 80+ Food Safety Certifications and other certifications in compliance with other international standards. NECL has provided Monitoring Evaluation and compliance Services to both Public and Private sector players, including value-chain associations like Maize (MAAN), Rice (RIFAN), Cotton (NACOTAN) comprising over 400,000 Farmers. Nicert successfully introduced Traceability in Organic Cashew and Shea value chains. NICERT also played a pivotal role in getting Nigeria listed among third countries that can export organic honey to Europe. NICERT has also won many awards, one of which is the African Brand Leadership Merit award 2023 as the most outstanding conformity assessment and certification body in Africa
