About
| In the past, Nigeria was the leading producer of palm oil, a commodity that was highly valued for its versatility and profitability. However, in the wake of the oil boom, our focus shifted, leading to a decline in the palm oil industry. Despite this setback, Malaysia and Indonesia have since taken advantage of the gap we left and have harnessed the potential of palm oil to bring about economic growth and advancement in their countries. As it stands, Nigeria is the fifth-largest producer of palm oil in the world, a testament to the potential that still exists in our country. We believe that we have the opportunity and resources to restore our lost glory and bring about wealth creation once again. The palm oil industry is a vast enterprise that can benefit everyone, from the plantation owners who cultivate the trees to the industries that use palm oil or palm kernel oil for their products. The machine manufacturing companies for mechanised processing equipment and seedling companies are also beneficiaries of the industry. With the right investments, technology, and policies, we can revitalise the palm oil industry, create jobs, and improve the livelihoods of our people. It is time to harness the potential of this red gold fruit and take our place as a leading producer once again. |
